Wet the back of each piece of siding as it is removed.
Use the hammer to remove any nails that are holding the siding in place.
Before the siding dries start removing nails by pulling them out or cutting the heads.
Work from the top down removing the snails to keep from breaking the asbestos siding.
Wrap asbestos siding in 6 mil thick plastic sheeting and secure the plastic with duct tape or place the debris in heavy duty plastic bags.
Lower removed siding to the ground.
Breakage releases asbestos fibers.
If the siding starts to crumble on its own spray it with your detergent mixture.
Use a flat pry bar to remove the asbestos siding or roofing material starting from the top.
Use the pry bar to get up under the edge of the siding and take it off of the side of the house.
Do not throw or drop removed asbestos siding.
Spray the back of each piece once it s removed and carefully place it on the plastic sheet.
If siding should begin to crack or crumble immediately wet the cracked or broken areas with the pint size spray bottle or garden pump sprayer.
Use a hose ideally fitted with a spray nozzle to thoroughly saturate the siding of the building.
Try to keep the siding in full pieces if possible.
Keep the asbestos material that has been removed wet.
Spray down all the siding you will be removing with water to minimize dust.
