This is a low cost quick yet effective fix.
How do you repair holes in metal siding on trailer.
Pop any dents out of the aluminum siding by first drilling a 1 8 inch hole in the center of the dent with a power drill.
Then apply another bead of silicone around the outside of the hole.
Most of the time you can also use mortar caulk and epoxy filler to solve this problem.
Attach a washer to the end of a 1 inch self tapping screw and then insert the screw into the drilled hole.
For extra protection you can use two layers.
Next apply some metal primer to the exposed edges and let it dry.
Dampen a clean cloth with water and 1 2 tsp.
Apply a heavy bead of silicone sealant around the outside perimeter of the repair patch using the caulking gun loaded with a tube of silicone.
Take the x acto knife and cut out the portion of the aluminum siding that contains the large hole.
Clean the holes thoroughly to ensure the metal can bond properly with the primer you will use.
You need to fill any cracks and holes here as well.
Rub the edge of the hole down with soapy water but be very careful not to cut yourself while doing it as the edge of the hole may be very sharp.
When it is dry fill the holes with waterproof caulk.
Sand down the edges of the hole.
Sand the corners of the area you cut and lightly sand an area of about 1 inch on both sides the top and bottom of the gap.
Repair the insulation located behind the sliding if deep holed.
Cut a piece out that is larger than the hole.
Start with a little sanding to get the rust and corrosion off.
Grab the washer with pliers and pull to remove the dent.
The less you have to cut the better.
Mix auto body filler apply to the hole and let dry before sand flushing.
Of liquid dish detergent.
Then use a clean damp cloth and a little liquid soap to clean the edges.
Use expanding foam insulation on it and let dry.
Wash the damaged areas with the soapy cloth to remove dirt and grime.
Sand the excess foam insulation to level it with the rest of the insulation.
